Aiva, the Amazon- and Google-funded leader in voice-powered healthcare, is looking for a Backend Engineer with an interest in learning new and exciting frameworks to help us continue our rapid growth.

Job Description

(tl;dr: Google Cloud, Linux, Go, Kubernetes, gRPC, Terraform, PostgreSQL, Redis, AI/ML providers, etc.)

Work format: Remote

At Aiva, we create services to empower healthcare organizations. To do so, we research and choose the best technologies that we can find, and our core engineering team builds and maintains systems based on those technologies.

We're looking for a teammate who loves to create and maintain such software platforms; someone who enjoys working with a wide variety of programming languages, operating systems, toolkits, and cloud platforms. As that teammate, you will be expected to have a keen eye for small details, an ability to dive deeply into many different technologies, and a genuine interest in taking on responsibilities from every part of the software development stack. We're looking for someone who is truly interested in the practice of modern computing, from coding to Kubernetes.

In addition to technical competence, the teammate we seek is someone who is firmly aligned with our master values. All core engineers at Aiva must be comfortable as not only students, but also as teachers; and, above all, skillful communicators.

Responsibilities

  • Engaging closely with Aiva leaders to understand product direction
  • Implementing new features and enhancing existing ones using agreed-upon strategies
  • Mastering the features offered by the Aiva platform itself
  • Building tailored solutions for customers using features offered by the Aiva platform
  • Coordinating with other teams within Aiva in order to create the best solutions possible
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest innovations within the AI / ML ecosystem, and sharing that knowledge with the team
  • Evaluating new tech, and determining whether it might benefit our end-user experiences and development efficiency

Core Skills & Experience

  • Experience with the command line, code versioning tools (git), and other technical essentials
  • Experience with these technologies or similar ones: UNIXy OSes, Google Cloud, AWS, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, PostgreSQL, Redis, and gRPC.
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with different teams in order to develop solutions
  • Ability to understand business requirements and turn them into working technical solutions
